Caramel Drizzled Crescent Apple Dumplings

Caramel Drizzled Crescent Apple Dumplings is another great little recipe compliments of facebook. I don’t remember who shared it, but I had the ingredients and the gumption to make it. The one thing that gave me pause was the Sprite. I thought for sure all that liquid would make the whole dessert a big glommy mess. I was wrong. โ˜บThese are super easy to make and simply scrumptious warm with a drizzle of caramel syrup and a nice plop of vanilla ice cream on the side. You’re going to want to double the recipe. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Caramel Drizzled Crescent Apple Dumplings

  • 1 apple, any kind
  • 1 (8 oz) 8-count can of crescent rolls
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 6 oz Sprite, 7-Up, or Mountain Dew
  • Smucker’s Sugar-free Caramel Syrup, optional

Core and peel apple into eight slices.

Unroll and separate the can of crescent rolls. Place one apple slice on the wide end each, sprinkle with a little cinnamon, and roll it up.

Place in a buttered 8ร—8 pan or if doubling, a 9×13 works.

In a bowl combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Pour over all the crescent rolls.

Pour Sprite all around the crescent rolls, but not on them.

Bake at 350ยฐF for 40 minutes or until crescents are golden brown.

Serve warm with caramel syrup and vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
