Lemon Garlic Butter Fish Filets is a super easy recipe that makes a mild white fish sing with flavor. This is one of Jimmie’s favorite ways to eat fish and mine, too! Preparing fish this way makes it wonderfully ketogenic and low carb. Serve if with a side of riced cauliflower and roasted brussels sprouts or green beans.

Depending on the number of filets you’re preparing, you can halve or double the ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 4-8 filets white fish such as cod or tilapia
  • 1/2 – 1 stick butter, room temperature
  • 1-2 tbsp minced garlic, jarred in water
  • 2-4 lemons, sliced thin

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly salt and pepper each side of the fish and arrange on a jellyroll pan.
  • Mix together butter and garlic. Smear a teaspoon of the mixture on top of each fillet. Arrange lemon slices on top of the butter mixture.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until the fish is golden around the edges and the lemons are slightly roasted.
  • Serve with extra wedges of lemon, if desired.

I can’t stress enough how delightful this fish tastes. The recipe works great with whatever your favorite seafood – shrimp, scallops, fish, even lobster. However, shortening the baking time for the shrimp and scallops is necessary. The lobster should be broiled for 4-7 minutes (depending on size) or until the flesh is white and the shell bright red.
